ADMINISTRATION

The Administrative Department of the Jackson Parish Police Jury serves as the official custodian of public records and as administrative support to the Police Jury and Jurors, its departments, agencies, and other boards.  This Department is located at 160 Industrial Drive, Jonesboro, LA 71251 and is always available and eager to serve the public.  

Our office hours are: 7:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. Monday thru Friday.

As the official and legal custodian of the Jackson Parish Police Jury public records, this Office is responsible for maintaining and making records available to the public.  Public records maintained by our office include meeting minutes, regulatory ordinances (code of ordinances), delegation of powers of the Police Jury (authorities, boards, commissions, intergovernmental agreements), and correspondence related to programs, policies, projects, and functions of the Police Jury.

As administrative support to the Police Jury and its individual members, this Office is responsible to assist in the development, research, and coordination of future agenda items; directing of actions of the Police Jury to the proper agencies, departments and persons; interpretation and implementation of its actions; and processing of responses.  Individual members provide objectives to the Department.  Extensive secretarial work is also performed.

All public offices provide customer services.  This Office responds to questions and requests for information from other agencies, departments, and the general public for historical information, copies of public records, and for other assistance.

TREASURY

The Administrative Department also serves as the Treasury Department to the Jackson Parish Police Jury and as such, will strive to assure that the parish is accountable to its citizens and to the state and federal governments by maintaining an accurate and timely record of all parish transactions in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, safeguarding parish assets, updating policies and procedures on an ongoing basis in order to meet the demands of state and federal regulations, technology, and the needs of the citizens, and administering the approved annual budget.

STAFF

The Operations Manager for the Jackson Parish Police Jury is Mr. Brad Roller. A lifelong resident of Louisiana, Mr. Roller has served 25 years in the Louisiana National Guard. The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance, Road, and Solid Waste Departments. 

The Administrative Payroll Clerk is Ms. Bonnie Paggett.  Ms. Paggett joined the Jackson Parish Police Jury in 2011.  Her duties included Building Permit Officer, Community Center scheduling and Accounts Payable before being assigned the responsibility of head of payroll in 2015.  She was previously employed by the paper mill in Hodge, LA and comes to the jury with 25+ years of clerical and accounting experience as a result of her service there.   She is proud to be a lifelong resident of Jackson Parish and is thankful to have this opportunity to serve her community in a public capacity. 

The Administrative Accounts Payable Clerk is Mrs. Sherrill J. Malone. Mrs. Malone began working for the Jackson Parish Police Jury in September 2023, and Accounts payable is one of her main areas of responsibility. Mrs. Malone is a proud graduate of both CLTCC - Huey P. Long Technical College, where she earned her Associate's Degree in Accounting, and "The Grambling State University," where she earned her Bachelor's Degree. As an ardent supporter of the Jackson Parish Community, her gratitude for the opportunity to perform public service to this community is apparent.

The Administrative Solid Waste Clerk, Ms. Sheila Huddleston began her career with the Jackson Parish Police Jury in 2005 as the Solid Waste Clerk. Here, she was responsible for invoicing commercial accounts, commercial permits, and maintaining current records for the Department of Environmental Quality. In 2021, Ms. Huddleston made the transition to Administrative Clerk. She continues to assist with the responsibilities of the Solid Waste Department and has also taken on the role of purchasing, assisting with parish boards, building permits, and employee time records. Ms. Huddleston is pleased to be a lifelong resident of Jackson Parish. 

The Administrative Clerk, Ms. Kailyn Hartis, came to work for the Jackson Parish Police Jury in 2023. Her primary responsibilities include issuing building permits, assisting with scheduling Community Center events, along with the up-keep of the Jackson Parish Police Jury website. She graduated from Weston High School in 2019 and is a life long resident of Jackson Parish. She is very pleased to serve the residents of Jackson Parish.
