Welcome to the Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District

We are the sole ambulance service provider to the residents of Jackson Parish.  We provide ALS (advanced life support) and BLS (basic life support) emergency transports.  We also provide non-emergency stretcher ambulance transports to those residents that meet medical necessity.

The mission of Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District is to provide outstanding emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services.  We provide these services in a professional manner while maintaining the dignity of those we serve.  Our staff continuously strives to learn, improve, and grow in enhancing the delivery of medical services to those we serve.

About Us:

On May 4, 1998 the Jackson Parish Police Jury created an ordinance establishing the Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District.

The motion was made by Dr. Charles Garrett and seconded by Mr. Ernest Conn.  Voting Police Jury Members were: Mr. David McManus, Mr. Leslie Thompson and Mr. Troy Smith.  The effective date of the ordinance was June 1, 1998.

The first board of commissioners were: Mrs. Jerri Costin, Mr. David Craig, Mr. Joe Vail, Mr. Herbert Simmons Jr. and Mr. Larry Avery.

The ambulance service was stationed at the Jackson Parish Hospital until January 2009. Since then, we have grown.  We now have 2 stations.

911 services are a vital part of every community’s emergency response team. Residents and visitors of Jackson Parish depend on Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District to provide responsive and reliable 911 ambulance transportation when they need it.

Terms:

Members are appointed by the Police Jury and must be qualified voters in Jackson Parish. Terms are six (6) years, alternating every two years
