District 2 Fire Protection District

The Jackson Parish District Two Fire Protection District Board meets regularly for Commissioners to review, discuss, and take the necessary actions for the District to maintain, improve, and secure progressive operation of the Fire District.  At each meeting, the District Fire Chief delivers a monthly report updating the board on such issues as maintenance, training, fire and EMS response, and other items of importance.

The Secretary-Treasurer duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, meeting preparation, financial reporting, and other related duties as requested.

As of 2018 District Two maintains five (5) fire stations located in Eros, Cartwright, Kelly, Vernon, and Saint Rest.  Each station houses a pumper and a tanker.  Rescue units are housed at the Eros and Kelly stations.  In addition, District Two maintains a Reserve station in the Vernon community which houses an extra pumper and a maintenance building in the Kelly community.

TERMS:

There are five (5) representatives appointed by the Police Jury and each must reside in the District 2 Fire District. Terms are for two (2) years.
